On October 4, 2003, The Pacific Safety Council held its 50th
Anniversary Auction Dinner and raised over $35,000 for the new DUI
P.A.C.E. Program and The Safety Mobile.
All proceeds
generated from the Nifty 50th Auction and Dinner are being
channeled into the much anticipated Safety Mobile project.
During 2002, in San Diego, 95 people were killed in
alcohol-related crashes and 3,077 were injured. The Safety Mobile
Project will fight to alleviate this statistic by bringing safety
education into all San Diego communities.
An interactive,
mobile education program, the Safety Mobile is designed to teach
DUI Awareness to young drivers, safe practices to young children
and injury prevention to one and all.
In honor of The Pacific Safety Councils 50th Anniversary, the event was held in Retro 50s style. Nearly 200 people enjoyed the groovy music of The Corvettes, the very personable Emcee stylings of KFMB Channel 8s Aloha Taylor, and the incomparable work of Auctioneer Daniel Clar. Along with the evenings entertainment, guests also enjoyed a Live Auction, Silent Auction, Raffle, and Door Prizes
all in the name of safety!
Special thanks should definitely be made to The Pacific Safety
Council’s partner companies and sponsors. Without them, none of
this would be possible. Because of the giving spirit of these
companies, San Diego can look forward to safer streets, healthier
children, and a better tomorrow!
